Getting Started with AI

A workshop for women

A hands-on morning to get you up to speed with AI. Bring your laptop and your curiosity. We'll start at the very beginning and work up to building something you'll use.

The promise

Walk out with something useful, already done.

You'll spend the morning on real tasks from your own life, with help beside you whenever you get stuck.

01

A finished piece of work

You'll leave having used AI to do something that helps you — at home, at work, or in whatever you're planning next.

02

Skills you can use the next day

A practical set of techniques for today's AI tools, and the confidence to keep going on your own.

What we'll cover

From first conversation to real results

Each topic builds on the one before. You'll try everything yourself.

01

Working with chat

How to ask so you get useful answers, how to follow up, and how to check what comes back.

02

Going beyond chat

Bring in your own documents, photos, and spreadsheets, and turn them into finished letters, plans, and summaries.

03

Understanding context

What AI knows and doesn't know about you, why it forgets, and how to give it the background it needs.

04

Skills

Teach AI a task once and reuse it, so the things you do often take a fraction of the time.

05 · The big idea

You can teach AI anything.

Your recipes, your routines, the way you like things written. Show it once, and it learns how you work.

And AI can teach you anything.

A new language, your lab results, how your car works. A patient tutor that goes at your pace and never minds the question.

Mark Spencer

I've spent more than 20 years teaching people to use complex creative software, as a trainer, a co-author of books on Final Cut Pro and Motion, and a creative partner at Ripple Training. Today I use AI every day to run my own business, and I love helping people get past the intimidating first steps.

Save your spot in line.

Signing up doesn't commit you to anything. When the date and venue are set, you'll hear first. I'll also send a short survey, so the workshop covers what you want to learn.

I'll use your email only for workshop news and the survey. I won't share it.
